WoodSafe's needle cans and hazardous waste bins are produced in Sweden from biocomposite sourced from StoraEnso. The material consists of:

• 40% sawdust
• The rest is recycled plastic

The result is a 52% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to current yellow cans.

Hazardous waste containers are the third largest consumer of plastic in healthcare, following:

• Plastic gloves
• Disposable aprons

These containers are approved according to UN 3291 for infectious and sharps waste, with a volume of 3 litres.
