WoodSafe's needle cans and hazardous waste bins are produced in Sweden from biocomposite from StoraEnso. The material consists of 40% sawdust and the rest recycled plastic. The result is a 52% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to current yellow cans. Hazardous waste containers are the third largest consumer of plastic in healthcare after plastic gloves and disposable aprons.
