Micro:bit Bit:Bot XL
Product Details
Bit:Bot XL is a fully integrated robot for BBC Micro:Bit. We have made several changes to provide an improved experience of using and working with BitBot.
Latest features and updates:
- Approximately 10% longer and wider with bigger wheels.
- The motor gearbox is now fully covered to minimize dirt in the gears.
- The Micro:Bit is now mounted vertically.
- The line sensors no longer share pins with the Micro:Bit buttons, removing Bluetooth pairing issues and allowing button use in coding.
- The Makecode extension is now compatible with both Classic and XL versions.
- The Piezo speaker is connected to pin 0, enabling music playback.
Features of the Classic BitBot:
- 2 micromotors with metal gears, fully controllable by software for speed (0-100%) and direction (forwards or backwards).
- Wheels with rubber tires for optimal grip.
- Real soft-rolling steel ball in the front, replacing the front wheel.
- 12 mini neopixel panels, arranged in 2 sets of 6 along the arms on each side.
- 2 digital sensors for line reading, allowing you to program your own line-following robots and compete for the fastest lap time!
- 2 analogue light sensors (front left and right) for programming the Bit:Bot XL to follow a light source or hide in darkness.
- Piezo speaker powered by an integrated 3xAA battery holder with an on/off switch and blue LED indicator.
- Easily plug in your BBC Micro:Bit through its edge connector.
- Front expansion ports for accessories.
- Two 5V GVS expansion connectors for servo motors (shared with the light sensors).
Note: BBC Micro:Bit, pen, and Ultrasonic not included. The LED indicator is for the line sensors, and there are 2 GVS outputs for potential servo use with 5V power. A pen holder mounts directly over the drive shaft.
Warning: Not suitable for children under 3 years old.
